2000: ‘Abitur’ university entrance qualification in Leipzig;
From 2000 until 2006: Studied Political Science, Media and Communication Sciences and History at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and Leipzig University, graduating with a Master of Arts; Completed a PhD (Dr. phil.) in Political Science at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg.

From 2009 until 2019: Office manager for members of the Bundestag and Land Parliament;
Since 2019: Consultant for a consultancy and communications firm (currently inactive);
From 2019 until 2021: Member of Saxony’s Land Parliament.

1998: Joined the CDU.
Since 2015: Member of the Land executive committee of Saxony’s Mittelstands- und Wirtschaftsunion (SME and Business Organisation of the CDU/CSU);
From 2019 until 2025: District chair of the CDU Nordsachsen;
From 2019 until 2025: District councillor in Nordsachsen.

Since 2019: Member of the Reservist Association of the Deutsche Bundeswehr;
Since 2019: Member of the Förderverein Landesgartenschau 2022 Torgau e. V.;
Since 2019: Member of the Förderverein Landesgartenschau Oschatz 2006 e. V.;
Since 2020: Member of the ZDF Television Council;
Since 2022: Deputy chair of Deutsche Gesellschaft e. V.

Dr. Christiane Schenderlein has been Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Health since 29 July 2026.
