Carsten Linnemann new Health Minister
Having been appointed by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr. Carsten Linnemann has today assumed the office of Federal Minister of Health. This comes after his predecessor Nina Warken was appointed Head of the Federal Chancellery and Federal Minister for Special Tasks.
During the handover ceremony, Nina Warken thanked the staff at the Federal Ministry of Health for their extraordinary dedication and for the trust that characterised the working relationship even in challenging times. She wished her successor every success as well as endurance and God’s blessing.
My political mandate is to ensure that health and long-term care is dependable and affordable. The groundwork has been done over the past 14 months, and I will now continue to steer ahead on this path. There are huge challenges ahead, and I will approach the task with the requisite humility. In doing so, I will rely on the outstanding experience, commitment and expertise of the staff at the Ministry.
