Bundesgesundheitsministerin Nina Warken spricht beim WHS 2025
From 12 to 14 October 2025, stakeholders from politics, science, civil society and business are coming together from all over the world to find and catalyse solutions for today’s pressing challenges for health.
In view of the current geopolitical and societal challenges, conversations at an international level are more important than ever. That’s exactly what happens at the World Health Summit: We enter into dialogue and work together to strengthen international collaboration in health policy. Health is no place for the lone wolf, because national health topics are often linked to the global level. It is in our very own interest to strengthen these topics at an international level. Germany will continue to be a reliable partner in global health.
In bilateral discussions, Federal Minister Warken is looking into matters such as enhancing bilateral cooperation with her counterparts, Poland’s Minister of Health, Jolanta Sobierańska-Grenda, and Indonesia’s Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin. In a meeting with EU Commissioner for Health and Animal Welfare, Olivér Várhelyi, current EU dossiers such as the Critical Medicines Act are on the agenda.
Another topic under discussion at the World Health Summit is the further development of the global health system. At a time when countries are pulling away from international treaties and institutions more and more, it is absolutely crucial to strengthen multilateral relationships. Topics such as women’s health, the impacts of climate change, non-communicable diseases as well as the global rise in antimicrobial resistance are also the subject of discussion at the summit.
